The Importance of Non-toxic Dishwashing

According to poison.org, over 18,000 children in the US alone were poisoned by dish detergents in 2016. It's hard to believe that the very products we use to clean our dishes could be a major source of poison exposures, especially in little ones. The chemicals in many of these products can be harsh and toxic when ingested, which begs the question: why would we use harsh products to wash the dishes we eat from on a daily basis?

Foaming agents and harsh anionic surfactants such as SLS/SLES are commonly used in both conventional and plant-based dish soaps to produce thicker foam. You'd be surprised that there is no correlation whatsoever between excessive foaming and cleaning, and that many of these unnecessary chemicals feed into existing perceptions that thick foaming means better cleaning.

At Rooted Regimen, we never include any harmful chemicals. Our products are free of the anionic surfactants SLS and SLES, colorants, and synthetic fragrances and preservatives, giving you the peace of mind that whatever is coming into contact with your dishes is completely safe.

To use Rooted Regimen in your dishwasher, simply add 1/2 scoop of Bio Boost to 1/2 capful of All-In-One Concentrate into your dishwasher's tablet dispenser and run the cycle normally. Your dishes will come out looking and smelling squeaky clean!
If you're still finding it difficult to let go of excessive foam that comes with manual dishwashing, here are a few simple steps to follow to get your Rooted Regimen Dish Liquid to safely produce more foam:
  • Rather than filling All-In-One Concentrate to the "concentrate" line before topping up with water, you can just fill concentrate all the way to the top.
  • Depending on the type of sponge, pumping the liquid onto a dry sponge can produce better foaming results.
  • For larger loads, use a bowl of soapy water on the side, simply add just 1 capful of All-In-One Concentrate to 250ml of water and dip your sponge.
